I’ve lived with …
I’ve lived with asthma my entire life. I’ve had nights when I woke up and thought about calling 911 because I couldn’t breathe. I’ve never called, mostly because I’m too proud I guess, I drive myself to the hospital or get a friend to do it for me.

I just saw this …
I just saw this girl have an asthma attack the other day at a concert one the bands was trying to get as many people as they could to crowd surf. I guess she was somewhere in the middle and got stuck and couldn’t breath when everyone started pushing, jumping, and shoving. I was all the way in front and I just saw her being dropped by a security guard and she was on the floor shaking and gasping for air and her inhaler didnt help.

This is starting to …
This is starting to scare me knowing I have been without a rescue inhaler for a few months now. Thankfully in a few days I have a doctor appointment and finally have medicade in addition to my crappy work insurance. Thanks to medicaid thats the only way i can afford my medication. I have some really crappy employee insurance and anyone with asthma knows how expensive the meds can be.

My grandfather was also a WWII veteran. He was a Marine pilot and he got shot down once during takeoff and crash landed on water. He’s now blind from his history of diabities.

@GrumpyGal82 I know how you feel. My grandpa died from not only old age, but from the stress if trying to breath. He was one of a strong man though. he survived in itself! Being a POW in WW2 and then nearly bein killed when fighting a barn fire during his volunteer fireman days.

I wonder if they …
I wonder if they used the same thing to finally get her asthma under control that it took to get mine controlled. Ad-vair Discus, that thing that looks like a space ship and has two different medicines in it.
They won’t use it unless you can’t get the asthma controlled with anything else. It’s usually used as a last resort.

A person who has …
A person who has asthma that bad usually has a spacer they can attach their inhaler to. It helps the medicine go in more effectively.
I have one, and my asthma isn’t as bad as the girl’s in this segment. It used to be really bad, just not THAT bad.
I used to be embarrassed too. Finding AngryAussie’s videos helped me get over it. Now I just think like he does: If someone doesn’t like me for a stupid reason they can get lost, go do their own thing.

That’s how it …
That’s how it always is in any serious emergency.
On the night of October 7, 1980, we never dreamed my 6-yr. old sister would almost lose her life in a medical emergency.
I became a paramedic so I could help other patients and their families the way the EMTs helped us that night.
On other videos, people give me minuses when I talk about my sister, but that won’t stop me from talking about it.
People who have experienced the terror of a true emergency will know what I mean. You never forget.
