Did you mean: "Angina"? asthma can cause pain in the chest but it is not necessarily angina.

    Yep.
I don’t know much about the newer medications but I know that it always USED to be recommended that medicines only be used if you can’t get by without them because they HARM the heart and lungs.

some odd ball answers so far. let’s look at your question from a medical perspective. first off your question involves "risk" so at the far end of risk spectrum one can answer yes to your question. now when you get down to the specifics and the studies of such medications they are not shown to "cause" angina. however someone with cardio-pulmonary compromise those patients who are likely to have asthma or copd, (that includes a lot of pathological entities or syndromes) ,could have more risk of angina then some one without the pathology but in general the class of drugs ordered for asthma are sympathomimetics which do not induce angina. however that class drugs can stimulate a rise in heart rate.

a secondary relationship to your question is the fact that if anyone with asthma is at risk for angina because asthma can cause a decrease in oxygenation which can lead to poor cardiac function and perhaps induce an angina attack.

to say more is to read to much into your question that is not there

I have never heard of this. Then again if i read long term consequences of my asthma medications i would never take them.
All i know is that i have got stunted growth and some extra hair. which gets dealt with.
