There are different kinds of medications for asthma accessible in the market. These medications are classified into four kinds: bronchodilators, anti-inflammatory, and two others. However, self-medication is not advisable because there are different kinds of asthma conditions that need different types of medication too. It is also possible that the patient may be prescribed to take more than a single medication. One particular asthma medicine is that used in steroid groups. This type of asthma medication consists of an inhaler during instances of an onset of asthma or shortness of breath. The inhaler serves as a relaxant and clears the air passages so that a person can breathe more easily. Another type of medication for asthma is the oral pill taken everyday.

This oral pill is usually taken with another medication for asthma. This pill may be combined with an inhaler to minimize the number of asthma attacks suffered by a patient. A patient who suffers from shortness of breath and wheezing can also benefit from Terbutaline. This asthma medication is classified as a bronchodilator that opens up the passage of air in the bronchial tubes. Another medication for asthma includes Fluticasone. This drug is paired with another asthma medicine. Fluticasone works by unclogging the nasal passages and offers relief from wheezing.

Albuterol is a common medication for asthma that is usually prescribed as a bronchodilator. This medicine works like the usual bronchodilator that clears the airways and prevents contractions in the bronchial tubes. This medicine comes in several forms: liquid, pill, or inhaler. Another important thing for individuals which suffer from asthma is that they need to inform their doctors of other ailments they may be suffering because there are medications in asthma that can cause side effects that worsen other conditions.
